The National Federation of Press Women is providing the attached release announcing that Senator Judith Zaffirini, PhD, is its Sweepstakes Winner for the second time. Senator Zaffirini won 17 awards from the National Federation of Press Women’s annual contest, including 5 first-place winners for Speech, Marketing Program, Public Service Campaign, Crisis Communications and Advertising. Winning entries are selected from the states’ first-place entries in each category. (Those results have not been announced.) |

Senator Judith Zaffirini, D-Laredo, addresses her young constituents. A Communication Specialist with B.S., M.A. and PhD degrees from The University of Texas at Austin, she is the 2023 National Sweepstakes Winner in the annual contest sponsored by the National Federation of Press Women. Her 17 winning entries garnered more points than any other entrant.
