State Senator César J. Blanco Hosts 2nd Annual Free Community Shredding Event in East El Paso

El Paso, Texas — Today, State Senator César J. Blanco hosted a free community shredding event, providing El Paso residents with a safe and convenient way to dispose of sensitive documents. In total, 2,700 pounds of paper were professionally shredded, helping residents clear out old paperwork while taking an important step to protect their personal information.

Old paperwork can contain personal details that, if improperly discarded, can put individuals at greater risk of identity theft and fraud. The event gave residents an opportunity to responsibly dispose of documents such as outdated financial records, bills, tax paperwork, medical documents, and other personal records. Senator Blanco’s office partnered with Sun City Shredding to provide professional shredding services free of charge to the community.

Senator Blanco issued the following statement:

“Events like this are a simple, practical way to make a real difference for families and help our neighbors take care of something that can easily get overlooked. We all have paperwork piling up, and having an easy way to get rid of it can make life a little easier.

I’m grateful to everyone who came out and to Sun City Shredding for helping make this event possible. Resources like this should be accessible to everyone, and we’re proud to provide a free service that helps El Paso families take care of something important.”
