The growing concentration of petroleum and chemical companies in West Dallas in the early 20th century ne- cessitated the fabrication of sheet metal and steel infra- structure including tanks, boilers, smokestacks, towers, stills and piping. Consequently, Wyatt Metal & Boiler Works and Atlas Metal Works also moved to the area.
