Located in unincorporated Dallas County, the area had one small community called Eagle Ford that was served by the Texas & Pacific (T&P) Railroad. The T&P arrived in Dallas one year after the Houston & Texas Central and built a 6.0 mile trunk line to West Dallas in 1874.
