Nichols congratulates ANRA on loan for new wastewater treatment facilities

Austin, TX – State Senator Robert Nichols (R-Jacksonville) congratulates the Angelina and Neches River Authority (ANRA) on receiving a financial assistance award from the Texas Water Development Board.

"I was happy to hear that ANRA would be receiving this loan," said Nichols. "They play a very important part in the running of the community and it is important that we provide support to them."

The Texas Water Development Board adopted a resolution on Thursday, January 8th, which granted ANRA's application for almost $5 million of financial assistance for new wastewater treatment facilities.

"With the closing of the Redland Estates Wastewater Treatment Plant almost 20 years ago, the area has been without a much needed resource," said Nichols. "This loan will enable ANRA to provide necessary services to the residents of Angelina County,"

ANRA's construction of these new wastewater treatment facilities will provide first-time sewer service to approximately 105 connections located within the Angelina Fresh Water Supply District No. 1 service area, including the Redland Estates Subdivision as well as other homes located along the proposed sewer line.

The Angelina & Neches River Authority (ANRA) is a government entity created by the state legislature to construct, maintain, and operate any and all works necessary for the purpose of controlling, storing, and preserving water resources in the 17 county jurisdiction in the Neches River Basin.
