Nichols speaks to Jasper-Newton County Medical Society

Austin — Senator Robert Nichols (R-Jacksonville) took time to speak to the Jasper-Newton County Medical Society in Jasper on Wednesday, December 18th.

"I always welcome the opportunity to speak to groups such as the Jasper-Newton County Medical Society," said Nichols. "By working with groups such as theirs, we are able to find possible solutions to the various healthcare concerns in East Texas that I can then take to Austin."

First elected to the Texas Senate in 2006, Robert Nichols represents 19 counties including the greater part of East Texas.

Nichols serves as chair of the Transportation Committee and sits on the Health and Human Services Committee, Intergovernmental Relations Committee, Natural Resources Committee and the State Affairs Committee.

During his four sessions as a state senator, Nichols authored and passed legislation to protect landowners' rights, increase educational opportunities in East Texas and reform transportation policies. He has worked to reduce Medicaid fraud, and promote free-market principles. He was designated as a Champion for Children by the Equity Center and a Fighter of Free Enterprise by the Texas Association of Business.
