Nichols speaks at forest pest seminar

Lufkin, Texas — Today, Sen. Robert Nichols (R-Jacksonville) spoke at the local Forest Pest Management Clinic at the Angelina County AgriLife Extension Office. He updated attendees on changes to pest control regulations.

"As a law maker I think it is essential to get out and talk with the people affected by changes in laws and regulation," said Nichols. "By coming to the seminar today, I can hear from those in the forest pest management business and also let them know how the Legislature has responded to their concerns."

Angelina County Extension Agent Cary W. Sims, thanked Nichols for coming to the event.

"I appreciate Sen. Nichols coming to the event today," said Sims. "It reflects his understanding of just how important agriculture and forestry are to East Texas."

The seminar counts for five hours of continuing education units as required by the Texas Department of Agriculture. The event was sponsored by Angelina, Cherokee, Houston, Nacogdoches, Sabine, San Augustine, and Shelby Counties cooperating along with Eric Taylor, Extension Forestry Specialist.
