Today state Senator Robert Nichols (R-Jacksonville) issued a state of support for Henderson County's efforts to keep a nativity scene as part of holiday display on the courthouse square.
"Henderson County is right to allow the nativity scene," said Nichols. "It is irresponsible for lawyers from some group in Wisconsin to make legal claims about a community tradition they have not even seen in person. I applaud Judge Sanders' defense of the nativity scene and for protecting the right of Light Up Athens to include it in a Christmas display."
