Nichols to honor Conroe realtor as new chair of the Texas Real Estate Commission

Austin — On Wednesday state Senator Robert Nichols will honor John Eckstrum at a meeting of Montgomery County Realtors. In April, Eckstrum was appointed as the new Chairman of the Texas Real Estate Commission.

"John is an excellent choice for this important job," said Nichols. "It was an honor to celebrate his appointment in Austin, but now I want to brag about him to his hometown crowd."

The Texas Real Estate Commission exists as a state agency to protect the citizens of Texas. The Commission's programs of education, licensing and industry regulation ensure that real estate service providers are honest, trustworthy and competent.

"Montgomery County should be proud to have an area business leader serving in such a significant statewide role," said Nichols.

John D. Eckstrum and his wife Alice co-own Conroe business First Group, founded in 1974. He has a lifelong history of participation and leadership in civic and professional organizations in the Montgomery County area. He was 2001 Chairman of the Texas Association of REALTORS. He currently serves on various committees and as a Trustee for the National Association of REALTORS.

The Montgomery County Realtors will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the River Plantation Country Club, 550 Country Club Dr, Conroe.
