Nichols congratulates San Augustine County for its designation as a Certified Retirement Community

Austin -- State Senator Robert Nichols (R-Jacksonville) today congratulated San Augustine County on its new designation as a Texas Certified Retirement Community (CRC).

"Congratulations to the people of San Augustine County for recognition as aTexas Certified Retirement Community," said Nichols. "Many already know San Augustine is a great place to live, but this award will help get the word out that it's an excellent place for retirement."

Operated by the Texas Department of Agriculture, the CRC program encourages retirees and potential retirees to make their home in designated Texas communities. To qualify, communities must demonstrate housing opportunities, recreational activities and access to medial care suitable for senior citizens.

"The area has a lot to offer," said Nichols. "I encourage anyone looking for a place to settle down in retirement to consider the high standard of living in San Augustine County."
