Senator Buckingham's Capitol Office Visitor Protocols

At the direction of the State Preservation Board, the public may only enter via the north door of the Texas Capitol.

To help prevent the spread of the virus and reduce the risk of exposure to our staff and constituents, informal visits, such as walk in meetings, are prohibited at this time. Visitors will only be allowed beyond the front office by appointment. Meetings will also be limited to a maximum of 2 guests.

At this time, we can only accommodate a limited number of in-person meetings based on office capacity and availability. Meeting are highly encouraged to be held via phone call or virtually, if possible. Those requesting an in-person meeting are requested to do so in advance by calling 512.463.0124 or emailing the name, group, and purpose of the meeting to SD24.Scheduling@senate.texas.gov.

For visitors to the Texas Capitol who do not have appointments, please fill out the sign in sheet outside our office located in Room E1.808 or call to arrange an appointment at 512-463-0124.

COVID-19 Screening Questions
Visitors to our office will be asked to confirm they are not exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19. When asking individuals if they have symptoms for COVID-19, our office only requires the individual to provide a “Yes” or “No” answer to the overall statement that they are symptomatic for COVID-19, as opposed to asking the individual for specific symptom confirmation.

A list of common COVID-19 symptoms can be found here.

Our office will not collect information during screening on the specific health information of an individual beyond an acknowledgement that they are symptomatic.

COVID-19 Testing
COVID-19 testing is highly recommended and easily accessible on the north plaza at no expense. No personal data will be collected.

Masks
At the direction of the State Preservation Board, a mask worn over the mouth and nose is required at all times inside the building.
